Acknowledgment of Country
I would like to acknowledge the Wulgurukaba of Gurambilbarra and Yunbenun, Bindal, Gugu Badhun and Nywaigi as the Traditional Owners of this land I reside on. I would like to pay my respects to their cultures, their ancestors and their Elders, past, present and future.

Connecting Culture Through Fine Art
Welcome to my world of Aboriginal Australian fine oil paintings.
I am Juliet DeValter, a proud First Nations woman, artist and educator from the Kalkatungu | Kalkadoon mob, creating to honour culture, language, and lived experience.
My practice is informed by years working across education and community, where I have witnessed the profound impact of confidence and belief.
Through painting, I explore identity, resilience, and belonging, creating works that hold quiet strength and cultural continuity. Each piece is developed with intention and care, offering space for reflection and connection.
I invite you to explore my collection, where each painting carries its own narrative. Whether you are a collector, curator, or admirer of fine art, I am honoured to share this work with you.
Thank you for engaging with my practice and for becoming part of my artistic journey.

Artist Statement
Hi, hello, welcome! I am a First Nations artist and educator from the Kalkatungu | Kalkadoon mob. My practice is shaped by culture, language, and a lifelong commitment to education, mental health, and social justice. Working across classrooms and community, I have seen how confidence transforms lives. I paint to clear self-doubt and plant belief, creating works that affirm identity, strength, and possibility, and invite viewers to see culture, pride, and potential reflected back to them.

Live Event Painting
I create live paintings at festivals and events, capturing energy as it unfolds. Working in real time, each piece responds to movement, music, and atmosphere, offering audiences an immersive creative experience and leaving behind a powerful, one-of-a-kind artwork that carries the spirit of the moment long after the event ends.
Commissions
My commission practice is collaborative and considered, allowing space for personal stories, cultural connection, and individual intention to guide each work. Whether the piece is bold and textural or more restrained and reflective, each commission is developed with care and artistic integrity.
Workshops
My workshops explore culture, identity, confidence, and self-expression through art, language, and lived experience. Sessions can include visual storytelling, creative practice, discussions around Aboriginal Australian history and contemporary perspectives, and practical confidence-building skills tailored to the group.
Murals
I create bespoke murals across interior and exterior walls, floors, and large-scale spaces. With a background in education, I can meaningfully integrate curriculum outcomes, storytelling, and cultural context. My murals inspire connection, pride, and learning, and can be delivered independently or collaboratively with schools, communities, and organisations.

Support
Community Projects
A selection of smaller works created to support upcoming community initiatives. These projects are designed to encourage self-expression and pride in personal presentation, giving young people the opportunity to explore individual style, build confidence, and feel comfortable being themselves.
Through these initiatives, I run workshops for First Nations teenagers focused on professional self-presentation. Sessions introduce practical skills such as styling and accessorising, caring for curly hair, and creating natural, long-lasting makeup suited to the Townsville climate.
Every painting sold directly contributes to these programs — supporting both my art practice and meaningful community work, where creativity becomes a tool for confidence, empowerment, and connection.
Commitment to Authenticity
Every painting you find here is an original creation, a piece of my heart and soul. I work meticulously to ensure that each stroke embodies the spirit and traditions of my people.
When you bring one of my paintings into your home, you're not just acquiring art; you're welcoming a piece of Australian Aboriginal heritage.
All paintings are stamped & signed for authentification, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.
